Campus-Life Parma, a program of Youth for Christ, is still trying to gain traction in the Parma City School District. Lisa Timko, Volunteer Director for Campus Life-Parma, recently had a positive meeting with PCSD Superintendent Carl Hilling and hopes to follow up with him to present a comprehensive plan for bringing after-school programs and character-building classes to youth in the district.

In order to present a strong proposal, Timko is looking for firm commitments for the following volunteer opportunities:

  • One or more Club Leaders: Involves preparing weekly lesson plans (curriculum is provided) and coordinate meals with volunteer team. Also, making sure self and volunteers follow-up with students in an effort to build relationships. Commitment will be 3-6 hrs./week through the school year.
  • Special Events Volunteers: Participate in special events with students, including transporting students to and from the venue. Also, in much need of people to become approved shuttle drivers.
  • Character Class Co-Facilitators: Participate in 1-5 hrs./week teaching character classes in the school(s). These persons should also be prepared to mentor/minister to students (and possibly their families) outside of classroom time if needed.

Could you please take some time to look over these roles and see if the Lord would have you serve in one or more of them?

If not, are you still committed to serving as a volunteer where needed, if not in a leadership role?

To respond to any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact Lisa Timko.
