What is the Parma Health Ministry?

The Parma Health Ministry is a collaborative community service of UH Parma Medical Center, Parma Christian Church, and participating volunteer healthcare professionals. The purpose of the Parma Health Ministry is to provide health care services to eligible individuals from age 18 to 65, who, though employed, do not have and cannot afford health insurance and are not eligible for government assistance. This commitment is fulfilled by:

  • Providing medical services to include diagnosis, treatment, referral, hospital stays, and ancillary services;
  • Cooperating with existing social services and health agencies;
  • Seeking additional opportunities to serve those people in need.

Parma Health Ministry also provides supports via a prescription drug program, free clinic, blindness prevention program, and free guidance to those navigating the federal insurance exchange.

Who is eligible?

Those who meet the following criteria are eligible for Parma Health Ministry services:

  • No medical insuranceNot receiving Medicaid, Medicare, or Welfare benefits
  • Live within the geographic boundaries of: Parma, Parma Heights, North Royalton, Seven Hills
  • Earned and/or unearned income not to exceed 200% above poverty level (a current IRS Form 1040 must be provided)
  • Between the ages of 18 to 65

Where is the Parma Health Ministry located?

The Parma Health Ministry administrative office is located at Parma Christian Church, 7000 Ridge Road, Parma. Monthly clinics are held at the UH Parma Medical Center under the direction of Medical Director Rosetta Rowbottom, MD., and the collaboration of various volunteer physicians and healthcare professionals.
