Campus Life Parma is HERE!

Youth for Christ of Greater Cleveland has plans underway to bring their Campus Life program to students in the Parma school district. Campus Life is an after-school program that offers students an opportunity to have some safe fun and hear relevant faith-based messages on a weekly basis.
The Campus Life model is one of mentoring and relationship-building. Through their Campus Life program, Youth for Christ provides creative programs to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools. Like every ministry of YFC, Campus Life seeks to engage these young people wherever they are found as lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. Once a student accepts Jesus as their Savior, the Campus Life director will help the student find a church like yours where they feel comfortable so they can be discipled and grow in their new faith.
The Campus Life program features several outreach opportunities. Club, for example, is a weekly event similar in format to a church youth group meeting. At Club, the Campus Life team may serve the students a meal, play music and games, and also present a relevant faith-based message. It isn’t unusual at a Club outreach for students to respond by asking questions or sharing a struggle they are facing with a Campus Life volunteer. Fun and games aside, Campus Life provides an open door for the kids to reach out for help and answers from people who are there to love them and lead them during a very confusing time for many of them.
”It was my privilege to be the first full-time employee of Youth for Christ. After 60+ years, Youth for Christ continues to communicate the life changing message of Jesus Christ to our youth before it’s too late. The harvest fields are riper, the grain is thicker, and the instruments that technology has provided are sharper. I see no reason why we could not touch the entire youth population of the world with the good news of the Gospel… let’s make that our goal!” – Billy Graham
Other opportunities afforded by Campus Life are character building classes, such as the highly effective and privately funded Ambassadors of Compassion program, and their popular basketball tournaments (watch basketball outreach video here).
In addition to weekly programs, Youth for Christ partners with the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Strongsville Recreation Center, and other organizations to provide outreach events each year for Campus Life students to participate in. Through their Campus Life program, Youth for Christ reaches thousands of young people on a weekly basis.
In the three Parma high schools alone, there are over 4,700 students. Several pastoral ministers in the community have faced resistance in recent years in their efforts to serve the Parma schools. Through the Campus Life program, YFC offers a creative, non-threatening way to enter the school campus and reach the students of Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills.
As with any outreach, a team of committed volunteers is critical to the success of the mission. Campus Life Parma is looking for individuals who have a love for the Lord, a transformed life, and a desire to see others have their lives transformed as well. Volunteers are in a unique position to minister to unsaved teens and potentially alter the course of the student’s life through their investment of time and care.
