Parma Area Foster & Adoptive Care Initiative
Through no fault of their own, hundreds of kids each year enter the custody of the county as a result of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. All they can do now is wait. Wait for a second chance. Wait for a place to call home. Wait to be loved.
Obviously there’s a clear, biblical mandate for Christians to care for orphaned children, but do we even know the magnitude of the problem right here in our community? Currently, 600 plus kids are in the permanent custody of Cuyahoga county, meaning they are in limbo, caught in the system, with no place to call home.
At Community Ambassadors, we believe it’s time to stop the wait for these kids. That’s why we are collaborating and partnering with the Parma Area Family Collaborative, foster and adoption agencies, churches and pastors to raise awareness among our community and help recruit families for those waiting for their forever family.
Will you help stop the wait?
This year, Community Ambassadors has launched Stop The Wait , a grass-roots initiative dedicated to the general cause of connecting local forever families with local waiting orphans in Cuyahoga County. We will accomplish this mission through the following four efforts:
BUILD - To build awareness of the current foster and adoptive care crisis in Cuyahoga County.
EDUCATE - To educate on the process of becoming a foster or adoptive parent.
PROVIDE - To provide area churches and organizations tools that will help to build awareness among their constituents.
CONNECT - To connect prospective foster or adoptive parents to resources and local supports.
Please visit and refer others to the Stop The Wait website at www.StopTheWait.com
If your church would like to participate or collaborate with this initiative in any way, please contact us by email at contact@comamb.org or by phone at 216-200-7030.
Will you post a flyer?
