HEROES Night Update

Fatherhood Initiative

Community Ambassadors and Parma Area Family Collaborative (PAFC) teamed up on Saturday, Feb. 22, to host a free HEROES Father & Kid Movie Night.  An astounding 400 dads & kids attended the event and packed out the PAFC gymnasium and overflow room.  It was an awesome sight to see!

You can only imagine the level of chaos and the amount of popcorn and drinks spilled on the floor with a room filled with just dads and their kids (meaning, no moms!).  Nevertheless, when it was all said and done, I don't think one kid noticed any of that.  Just a lot of smiles and a lot of dads who earned "hero" status for the night.

Through a child's eyes, it's usually the small things that turn out to be the big things. Seeing all these dads together with their kids that night reminded us that being a hero doesn't require a cape or super powers.  Time just spent being together can go a long way.

A big thanks to Parma Area Family Collaborative for helping make the event a huge success!

Our Mission

Community Ambassadors is a Christ-centered, compassion-driven nonprofit organization committed to promoting and facilitating greater collaboration in order to effectively empower lives, strengthen families, and build better communities.

What about the fatherless?

During the promotion of the recent Father & Kid Movie Night, Community Ambassadors received a high volume of calls from mothers whose kids have no father or male figure involved in their life.  Please be mindful and prayerful of this issue as we think about how each of our ministries and outreaches can help to address this problem within our community.

•  In Parma, there are approximately 10,000 families with children.  2,000 of them are single-parent families. (US Census Bureau Statistics)

•  85% of the time the single-parent who is the custodial parent is the mom.   Where’s the dad? (US Census Bureau Statistics)
