Connection Newsletter AUGUST 2014
- To inspire & inform local pastors & church leaders -

Vacation Bible School. Growing up I never attended one. So when I had my own children I didn’t take them either. Until one summer I was handed a colorful flyer during the annual 4th of July Parade in Parma, inviting us to a local church VBS. It caught my attention, looked like fun for my kids and they offered a mom’s group. I went ahead and signed them up. We had a pretty incredible week. We were up early and excited to go. My children spent the week learning memory verses, singing songs, playing games and making friends. I spent the week listening to devotionals, hearing interesting talks and meeting new mom friends. It was bliss. Each year since we have faithfully signed up to attend VBS.
I want to take a moment to thank each and every church that hosts a Vacation Bible School. You do not know the lives you will touch or how they will be transformed because of your ministry. You do not know what little child God has placed under your instruction. You may never see the faces you have brought joy to again. I want you to know YOU are making a world of difference, one child at a time, one family at a time. As we read in 1 Corinthians 3:6, we plant but God gives the increase. You get to be a sower of seeds, planting into these tender hearts.
Thank you to each volunteer. Thank you to the sound booth operator. Thank you to the ladies that bring juice and cookies to each classroom. Thank you to the man directing traffic. Thank you to the Children’s minister, for your passion for our little ones. You are all being the hands and the feet of Christ.
