Thank You, Churches!
Vacation Bible School. Growing up I never attended one. So when I had my own children I didn’t take them either. Until one summer I was handed a colorful flyer during the annual 4th of July Parade in Parma, inviting us to a local church VBS. It caught my attention, looked like fun for my kids and they offered a mom’s group. I went ahead and signed them up.
Community Ambassadors is a Christ-centered, compassion-driven nonprofit organization committed to promoting and facilitating greater collaboration in order to effectively empower lives, strengthen families, and build better communities.
I had just met the mayor of Parma, Dean DePiero, for the first time. As I introduced myself, I informed him of the church where I was currently serving. I will never forget his response, nor how I felt when I heard it. “So where is your church located?”
Community Ambassadors hosted another great Father & Kid Bowling Night at Yorktown Lanes on August 1. Roughly 75 dads and kids from the Parma area came out and enjoyed a fun evening of free bowling. For some kids, it was their very first time to a bowling alley.
