Last month, the Parma City School District emailed invites to all of the churches in our local area for a Strategic Planning Focus Group on March 31.  Regrettably, there were very few in attendance at this meeting.  The purpose of this Focus Group was to provide input from the faith-based community in order to help guide the future of our school district and its students.  Fortunately, there is still time for your voice to be heard.

 

The PCSD has provided another opportunity for you learn about this initiative and ensure that your contribution is made.  Below is a statement from the PCSD:

 

"To assure that we work together in effective, positive and constructive ways, we are organizing a group of residents, representative of all of the voices in our community, to assist with a long range school district planning called "Strategic Planning.”  Our district has created plans in the past but it is now time to create a more comprehensive plan that incorporates community involvement. In this rapidly changing world it is critical to our children and our community that we keep pace with the educational expectations of our citizens. We are asking you to attend because we know that you are representative of a segment of our community and we value your input.  No previous planning background is necessary to participate.

 

We are asking that you come to an orientation meeting at the Parma-Snow Library Auditorium located at 2121 Snow Road in Parma on THURSDAY, April 17th at 7:00pm to learn more about this effort and decide whether or not you would be willing to serve as a member of the District's Strategic Planning Management Team. There is no commitment beyond this meeting, so will you come to the meeting to explore this planning effort?"

 

While you may not have received a formal invitation to this meeting, I urge you to attend on April 17th if you are interested in being engaged with the matters and future of our school district.  Thus far, the voice of the church community has been minimal, so your involvement in these discussions is critical.
