Connection Newsletter SEPTEMBER 2013
Since 1995, the Parma Health Ministry (PHM) has been serving the residents of Parma, Parma Heights, North Royalton, and Seven Hills communities. In conjunction with the Parma General Community Hospital, a medical director, and volunteer physicians, the PHM provides health care services at no cost to people who meet the following criteria:
- No medical insurance; Not receiving Medicaid
- Medicare, or Welfare benefits
- Earned and/or unearned income does not exceed 200% above poverty level
Whether its examinations, most surgeries, inpatient stays, outpatient procedures, or ancillary testing such as laboratory and radiology, the PHM strives to assist residents who cannot afford health insurance, yet still make too much to qualify for welfare.
In 2012, PHM provided approximately $800,000 in medical services to the uninsured. PHM contributes its ability to provide such services to the financial generosity of the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation, volunteer physicians, Parma Christian Church, and donations from individuals and other organizations.
