And we’re back! Yes, another school year is upon us. Welcome, 2014-2015 school

year! Parents greet the first day of school with a wide range of emotion. Some of us

are elated to clear out the homestead, thinking we can finally get some work done.

 

Some tearfully pack lunches, as we reminisce about how the weeks of summer blissfully flew by. Some of us are in denial. Didn’t we just celebrate the last day of school? Weren’t we just buying sparklers and swimsuits? There are those that anticipate this day with gleeful excitement. Carefully they purchase all their school supplies the first week of July. Backpacks are packed and waiting by the door on August 1st.

 

However you felt on that first day, I want to remind you of a verse that has been dear to me lately. “Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord” Psalms 127:3.  We all remember that blissful day our child was brought home, full of hope and full of anxiety. That little bundle has grown into the child/ren starting another school year. You have influenced, loved and shaped them, each day. You have been their strongest influence.

 

The bible also says, “A child when fully taught will be like his teacher ” Luke 6:40. You are the teacher with the most lasting impression. I am going to use this school year to focus on these verses. So when you see me at the PTA meeting quietly sobbing, I’ll try to pretend its just chalk dust in my eyes. But you’ll know I am going to miss those kiddos. Won’t you join in praying for blessings upon the Parma City School District.
